Dev. Update #5: More Progress!


Hello, and welcome to Dev. Update #5 for Baldi's Fun New School Plus, the sequel to Baldi's Fun New School! In today's update, I will talk about some item ideas I've gotten, and also how progress is going on the upcoming Alpha 2 version, which will be a big update!

Item Ideas

I've had many people send me item ideas via the submission form for Baldi's Fun New School Plus. After looking through them, I have chosen a few to talk about and what they are planned to do if they get added.


The first item idea is Vision Soda, from WowzaboiModder. The item was originally going to allow you to see through walls, but after that didn't work during testing, I made a new mechanic for it. The way it will work is if baldi is enabled in the level, when you use the item an image will appear on the side of your screen showing Baldi's view for 30 seconds. This will allow you to see where Baldi currently is, which can help you figure out where he currently is. The item's already been coded in the game and works, so look forward to seeing it on Floor 2 in Experience Mode!

The second item idea is Water Bottle, from FortDan2000. When the item is used, it restores 75% of your stamina, which gives you a quick boost of energy. This might be a good item to use if your out of stamina and don't have a zesty bar. Like the Vision Soda, this item has already been coded and will be in Alpha 2.

The third and last item idea I'll share for now is the Notebook Teleporter from Chris24XD. The item looks like a multi-colored notebook, and when you use it, it is supposed to teleport notebooks in the level to where characters are. I'm not sure if I'll be able to code the item with out it being buggy (like being able to collect notebooks you've already collected again if you use it), so its mechanics might change if it gets added.

Alpha 2 Progress!

Alright, on to the next thing I wanted to talk about, Alpha 2 progress! Some people are already asking when will the next version be out, so I wanted to say that development on Alpha 2 is going well! Some things planned to hopefully be in the version will be 3 new characters on Floor 2 (Beans, Clockers, and Tomado), 2 New Items (which are the first 2 item ideas mentioned above), and additions such as a Cafeteria and Rotohall. Camping in Trip Mode  is also getting improvements as well. Mrs. Pomp and Arts and Crafters have been added to the mode, and character sprites have also been made darker. Also, when you pass the NO Signs in Camping, it will get darker and if you stay past the signs for long enough, Crafters will spawn and come after you. There's other improvements and additions that will be in Alpha 2 as well. Below is Beans chewing animation.

well, if your playing in free run the vision soda does nothing but on story mode it allows you to see what baldi is seeing in a little screen in your hud for 30 seconds.

Can you add Fee Run Mode in this Alpha 2?

Mr. Ring & Clocker should have floor 1 & 2

Well, Mr. Ring is the same character as Clocker, and he will be added in Alpha 2.

l don't know Unity but l have a think.

On Stencyl (the game engine that l'm using) it has a "for each Actor Type" block (when on screen of course)  to enable the command.

Does Unity has this thing or it's able to code it?

Yes, free run will be added in Alpha 2.
