Hello, and welcome to the 2024 recap for Baldi's Fun New School Ultimate! Since it is the end of the year, I'm doing another recap like I did last year in 2023, where I go through the milestones BFNSU has achieved in 2024, along with some plans for not only BFNSU but also for the entire Baldi's Fun New School series in general for 2025. 2024 Beta 1 Progress

The entirety of 2024 was spent working on the Beta 1 update of Baldi's Fun New School Ultimate, which has progressed well over the course of the year. Here's a recap of each of the progress updates relating to the upcoming Beta 1 update released in 2024, and important details from each one.

• Progress Update 10 (04/27/2024) - Revealed custom texture support and other revamps to the redone Floor Builder (FB) for Beta 1.
• Progress Update 11 (05/29/2024) - Revealed some categories (such as the furniture category) for the Beta 1 FB.
  
• Progress Update 12 (07/26/2024) - Revealed the redone Computer Lab for Beta 1 and the variant selector for the FB.
• Progress Update 13 (08/15/2024) - Revealed the addition of new BFNSU development team members, and more FB improvements.
  
• Progress Update 14 (09/21/2024) - Revealed custom script support, and the first look at a redone 3D main menu for Beta 1.
  
• Progress Update 15 (10/27/2024) - Revealed stairs, the settings room, and several lighting system improvements for Beta 1.
  
• Progress Update 16 (12/21/2024) - Revealed the FB audio catalog, chunk system improvements, and character mod pack skin previews.
  

2024 Milestone Recap

Several milestones were also surpassed during the year on BFNSU's download page. Those include:

• Surpassing 818K views. (+418K views since last year)
• Surpassing 126K downloads. (+66K since last year)
• Surpassing 363K browser plays. (+263K since last year)
• BFNS Ultimate being added to over 2.74K collections on itch. (+1.34K since last year)

And the BFNS series' official YouTube channel reaching 1.22K+ subscribers.

This year, a new soundtrack channel for the series was also launched as part of a collaboration between me and Haroon Plays.

So since last year, even more growth has happened!

What's Coming In 2025?

Next year, I have some big plans for Baldi's Fun New School Ultimate and the series in general, here's the 4 main ones I have planned for 2025, with the potential for more to be revealed at some point in the future as well depending on how things go over the next year.

1. Baldi's Fun New School Ultimate Beta 1 Update And Future Updates

Likely sometime in the next few months or so, the long awaited and under development Beta 1 update of Baldi's Fun New School Ultimate, pending any further time needed to finish the update or delays, should finally be released.

1-2 months prior to this however, I plan on releasing a "Beta 1 Preview" version of the update to Baldi's Fun New School development testers, which will include a mostly finished Floor Builder, and maybe the first few floors of a redone Adventure Mode.

After that, the rest of the planned content for Beta 1 will be added along with any changes or adjustments made based on the development tester feedback and by the time of the public Beta 1 update release, everything should be ready for it's release.

After Beta 1 has been released, updates should follow a 2-3 month release schedule (although there's a chance smaller updates could be released sooner than that, like every 1-2 months instead), with a preview version of each update being released to development testers 2-3 weeks before the update's public release.

My hope is that by the end of 2025, BFNSU will be nearing completion, if it's not already finished with the release of the V1.0 update by the end of the year.

2. Baldi's Fun New School Ultimate Custom Floor Jams

Since creating and sharing custom floors is a popular feature in Baldi's Fun New School Ultimate, with the amount expected to increase once Beta 1 with it's improvements has been released, I'm thinking about bringing game jams back, something I used to do a few years ago as Baldi's Basics Fangame Friday Jams, but for BFNS Ultimate custom floors instead.

The way they would work is that players could create itch.io pages for their custom floors like before, and then submit them to a BFNSU Custom Floor jam. And perhaps like my old jams, there would be one every 1-2 months with a different theme for each, and maybe the winning floors would be added to BFNSU as custom floors that would then be included by default in the game.

If I do decide to start doing these custom floor jams in 2025, it will be exciting to see what custom floors players submit, as I'm sure with all of the new floor creation features coming in Beta 1, there will be some really unique and creative ones players will create and hopefully submit.

3. A Potential Baldi's Fun New School Remastered Sequel

This is something I've thought about developing and releasing for a while now, since the original BFNS Remastered is now several years old, and the current working name for the potential sequel is Baldi's Fun New School Remastered 2, which might end up being it's final name.

The logo above is a placeholder one, and if I decide to create it, BFNS Remastered 2 would expand upon the first Baldi's Fun New School Remastered with even more gamemodes, some new characters and features, and probably more.

It would also include most (if not all) of the improvements from Baldi's Fun New School Ultimate as it could be created in the same project BFNSU is being developed in, just with changes to fit the sequel's plans.

Also, based on the results of one of the questions in the 2024 BFNS Development Tester signup form, the sequel would not be released until sometime after the 1.4.8 update of BFNS Remastered 1, which should be released sometime next year in 2025, and will likely be the final update to the original BFNS Remastered.

4. The Baldi's Fun New School Movie???

Well, maybe. Since I'm on a break right now for the next few weeks before work resumes on BFNS Ultimate, I've decided to start working on a potential Baldi's Fun New School movie. If finished and released, it's planned to be around an hour long.

Not to spoil too much about it, as it's still in very early production, but I'm glad to say Haroon Plays will be composing the original soundtrack for the film and he has already completed one music track for it, which is planned to be used in the movie's intro.

It's called A Fun New Adventure, and you can listen to it here! I really like how it came out, and with Haroon composing the OST, it should end up sounding really good once it's finished, with a fitting music track for each scene in the movie.

Because it's planned to be a prequel movie that takes place before the events of the first Baldi's Fun New School mod, that's why I've decided to call it The Baldi's Fun New School Movie: The Beginning. GrandGames (one of the BFNSU dev team members) is also planning on helping with work on the movie, and maybe I can find some other people as well.

As for when it might be released, I'm thinking no earlier than August 5th, 2025, for the 4th anniversary of BFNS Remastered, but depending on how long BFNS Ultimate development takes (as that's a big production factor), it might not be released until sometime after that like late 2025 or 2026.

So, with all of that said, next year should end up being an even better year for Baldi's Fun New School Ultimate and the BFNS series in general!
