Hello, and welcome to another progress update for Baldi's Fun New School Plus Ultimate Edition! In this multiplayer related progress update, I'll share progress I have made on the multiplayer gamemode, along with some ideas I have for it. I hope you'll enjoy hearing what I have to say, and now it's multiplayer progress update time!

Notebook Competition

Over the last few weeks, I have been working on the first multiplayer mode for Competitive Multiplayer, which is called Notebook Competition (NBC). In this mode, you have to collect the most notebooks to win while competing against other players. After collecting your first notebook, you gain the ability to stun other players. And other features like a player list and minimap are also included. As of me writing this post, the first NBC level (which contains 10 notebooks and is meant for up to 2 players) is nearly complete. More levels for NBC are planned to be added, along with the ability for the player who created the game to select a specific level they want to play from a list of levels. I have uploaded several development videos showing some gameplay, and you can view an image of the PC controls for NBC below.

Player Rating

One of features that will be included in Multiplayer is Player Rating (PR). The way PR works is that every time you win a level, your PR will increase and every time you lose, your PR will go down if it's higher than 0. Eventually, you might be able to use your PR to unlock cosmetics that you could apply to your student that other players would see when playing with you in a multiplayer game.

Multiplayer Poll Results

Last week, I made a post (https://itch.io/post/7628586) announcing a multiplayer related poll I was doing for Ultimate Edition. Well, I shared the results of the poll yesterday where I revealed that Cooperative Multiplayer got the most votes in the poll's second question. So it will be the next multiplayer mode added after Competitive Multiplayer is more complete. You can see the results of the poll in the image below.

Multiplayer Mode Ideas

Before I end off this multiplayer progress update, I would like to share some ideas for future modes in Multiplayer. The first one is a mode for Competitive Multiplayer, which would be called Student Race Online. In Student Race Online, you would be on a racetrack with other players, and the first one to reach the end and cross the finish line would be the winner. The second is a mode for Cooperative Multiplayer called NULL Takedown. In NULL Takedown, you would work together with other players to defeat NULL while he goes around the schoolhouse and tries to attack you and the other players. If you can manage to takedown NULL, you and the remaining players would win, but if he captures all of the players, every one would lose. And the third and last one is for Cooperative Multiplayer and would be called Baldi In The Dark. In Baldi In The Dark, each player in the schoolhouse is next to a light switch, and Baldi is hiding somewhere in the dark. When everyone hears Baldi's laugh, the player closest to where Baldi laughed has to turn on their light switch to reveal Baldi under their light. To win, this has to be done correctly 4 times. If the wrong player turns on a light switch (which would be indicated by Baldi not being under their light), all players lose a life. If everyone loses 3 lives, Baldi wins and you lose the game.
